At DSOA, we are deeply committed to providing the necessary resources and guidance to promote academic success. While it is not a magic bullet or a guarantee, we believe that education can be a vital step in building a happy, healthy life. Since every individual deserves access to quality education and support, regardless of their background or circumstances we created the DSOA academic support program to ensure that no student is overlooked.
Students in grades 4 to 8 are welcome to join our FREE after-school tutoring and academic support program where they will learn study and study skills for life. Through our comprehensive academic support programs, we aim to empower students to reach their full potential and achieve their educational goals.
Tutoring
Our tutoring program offers personalized one-on-one assistance to students of grades 4-8.
Our team of dedicated tutors is well-versed in various subjects and curriculum requirements. Across all academic subjects, our tutors will provide tailored instruction and guidance to address the specific needs of each student. In addition, our tutors will bring the benefit of their own education and experiences to help our students with their curricula requirements and to optimize their learning potential. We strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment where all students can learn, thrive, improve and build confidence in their abilities.
Mentorship
Our mentorship program pairs students with experienced mentors.
Mentors who provide guidance, motivation, and inspiration throughout the student’s academic journey. They act as positive role models, offering advice on study skills, time management, goal setting, and career exploration. Through consistent meetings and open dialogue, our mentors foster a strong bond with their mentees, helping them navigate challenges and make informed decisions about their education and the world around them.
Individualized Support
We understand that every student has unique learning needs.
Our individualized support program focuses on identifying and addressing those needs through specialized instruction and strategies. Traditional academic support is accomplished through group lessons and requires that students ask for help if they become confused. We work closely with students, their families, and educators to personalize learning and cater to the specific needs. We then focus on tangible accomplishments we want to pursue within a realistic timeline and offer accountability and coaching to achieve success.
